The 7th GlobalConference
Accelerating Nutrition Action in a Changing Environment
The Micronutrient Forum’s 7th Global Conference (#MNF2026) took place from September 28 to October 1, 2026 in Accra, Ghana with a thematic focus of “Nutrition at the Frontiers of a Changing Environment.”
Over 2,300 delegates from 119 countries participated either online or in person, with almost half of all attendees from the African continent. It brought together researchers, civil society, the private sector, governments, donors, and regional organizations from across nutrition, food, agriculture, climate, development, and humanitarian fields to examine new evidence on how to sustain and finance nutrition programs, harness innovations in science and technology, and develop more equitable models of collaboration amid funding cuts, climate change, conflict, and displacement.
The Way Forward Statement
Hard-fought nutrition gains are increasingly at risk. Conflict, climate change, rising prices, and drastic cuts to official development assistance are straining the systems that protect the health and well-being of the most vulnerable. Yet the evidence shared in at the Micronutrient Forum 7th Global Conference in Accra, Ghana, showed that progress is possible, and that the nutrition community can do more with less when it shares evidence, learns together, and acts with resolve.
Launched at the closing plenary of the conference on October 1, 2026, the Way Forward Statement and Call to Action brings together the evidence and lessons presented over four days of the conference and sets out eight recommendations for strengthening nutrition now and in the long term.
The Call to Action
We call on governments, donors, multilateral institutions, civil society, researchers, and the private sector to invest in the foundations of nutrition progress. Now is not the time to pull back. We urge all stakeholders to:
- Download and share the Way Forward Statement and Call to Action with colleagues, partners, and decision-makers in your networks.
- Act on its recommendations by using them to shape your policies, programs, investments, and advocacy toward 2030 and beyond.
