Shaping the Next Chapter of Micronutrient Leadership

A Call for Acquisition Proposals

Responding strategically to a changing funding landscape

The Micronutrient Forum is entering a pivotal new chapter—and we are inviting mission-driven organizations to be part of it. The future of development demands greater collaboration and coordination, and the Forum is embracing the requirement to “do more with less” by identifying a new institutional home that will allow us to accelerate results at a time when the sector needs coordinated action more than ever.

We are issuing a request for proposals for a new institutional home. Mission-driven organizations, research institutions, global health alliances, and foundations that share our commitment to advancing evidence-based nutrition policy and practice are invited to submit expressions of interest. The proposals may include offers of acquisition, merger, or hosting arrangements that preserve the Forum’s identity as a neutral knowledge broker. The aim is to strengthen the Forum’s long-term sustainability and micronutrient leadership.

Ideal partners will demonstrate complementary mission alignment, experience operating in global contexts, and a commitment to sustaining our programs and global conference as platforms for collective action.

Preserving neutrality. Strengthening sustainability

The global development landscape is changing. Declining official development assistance and greater competition for limited resources are changing how mission-driven organizations operate. Rather than viewing these shifts as constraints, we see them as an opportunity for thoughtful consolidation, stronger collaboration, and smarter use of shared infrastructure.

The Forum’s independence has been central to our credibility and convening role; now, to sustain and expand our impact, we believe that joining or being hosted by a mission-aligned institution offers the most responsible and ambitious path forward. Together, we can ensure that the global micronutrient agenda remains impactful, coordinated, and ambitious for years to come.

Meanwhile, the Micronutrient Forum will continue to work with our partners to deliver on our program commitments and our 7th Global Conference in Ghana in September 2026.

Join us in shaping the next chapter

The RFP process is designed to be collaborative and efficient.

  • Phase one – expressions of interest: Interested organizations submit a short expression of interest.
  • Phase two – Co-developed concept note: Shortlisted candidates will work with the Forum to co-develop a concept note to ensure strategic, operational, and cultural alignment. Throughout the process, proposals will be assessed against clear criteria, including strategic fit, credible operating plans, operational alignment, and demonstrated understanding of the Forum’s unique value proposition.
