Micronutrient deficiencies (MNDs) lead to devastating health consequences including higher risks for anemia, blindness, cognitive impairments, poor birth outcomes, infections, and mortality.

New data on MNDs from a forthcoming publication in The Lancet Global Health show alarming levels across all global contexts, and while levels are highest in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, the report points to increased levels in high income countries as well.

Coordinated actions have never been more urgent to improve access to micronutrient dense foods, including animal-source foods, dark green leafy vegetables, and beans, lentils, or peas and scale up evidence-based and cost-effective micronutrient interventions including food fortification, bio-fortification, and micronutrient supplementation programs.

Join us as we hear leading experts talk about the magnitude of micronutrient malnutrition globally as well as opportunities for accelerating actions and investments to scale up cost-effective micronutrient interventions and transform food systems to deliver nutrient-rich diets.
