Open call for expressions of interest to host the Micronutrient Forum Secretariat

The Board of Directors of the Micronutrient Forum invites expressions of interest from institutions that wish to consider entering into a hosting arrangement with the Forum as it embarks upon the next phase of its operations.

The Forum has enjoyed a productive partnership with Nutrition International for the past six years. Notable achievements include two global conferences (Addis Ababa 2014 and Cancun 2016), as well as two international technical consultations in 2017, and three new reports: on advancing neural tube defect prevention in low and middle-income countries through improved folate status in women of reproductive age; on nutrition modeling tools for advocacy, decision-making and costing; and a “state of the world” look at large-scale food fortification.

The Micronutrient Forum is a global catalyst for improving the understanding of the benefits of micronutrients for human health and interventions, to achieve micronutrient adequacy in all aspects of health promotion and disease prevention.  The Forum facilitates dialogue and collaboration among researchers, program implementers, and policymakers in order to maximize the impact and cost-effectiveness of the billions of dollars spent each year on nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive investments globally, including in the health, agriculture, sanitation, and education sectors.

In its search for a new hosting partner, the Forum is looking for an organization which aligns with its vision and mission, and has the expertise, experience and resources to house the Secretariat.

The Forum welcomes all inquiries, and looks forward to a thoughtful and collaborative engagement with interested parties. More detailed information about the process, format and deadline for submitting an expression of interest can be found in the Request for Proposals (RFP).

Requests for additional information, clarification, as well as the submissions themselves should be sent by email to host-rfp@micronutrientforum.org

The deadline for expressions of interest is 15 December 2017. A short-list of candidate organizations will be invited to submit more detailed proposals by 15 February 2017, with a view to finalizing the hosting arrangement no later than June 1, 2018.
